Estoppel 101: What is Estoppel and How Do We Avoid It? Presented by Cozen O’Connor
This webinar will explore the concept of estoppel and clarify the distinction between the common law doctrines of estoppel and waiver, which are often used interchangeably but are fundamentally very different. The presenters will focus on contractual and equitable estoppel in Illinois, Florida, and Texas, and address ways of avoiding it. The presenters will examine an insurer’s duty to settle and respond to settlement demands and discuss how to defend against a consent judgment when the insurer is providing a defense under a reservation of rights.
