SPEAKER:
Courtney Taylor

Courtney will present a brief overview of the history of alcohol regulations in the United States, followed by a presentation outlining how our failed experiment with alcohol prohibition shaped the complicated web of laws and regulations that still govern the wine industry today and the challenges wineries face to comply with these outdated systems. Topics will include the various state regulatory frameworks that regulate wine production, distribution, and sales, as well as trade practice and tied house laws that continue to restrict basic contracting, marketing, and sales activities that are unregulated in almost any other industry.
